Carpinteria Birdwatchers

Carpinteria Birdwatchers are a group of people in and around Carpinteria, CA, who enjoy birdwatching. We have evening birdwatching classes and morning birdwatching outings once a month. All classes and outings are free and open to all ages and ability levels.

Classes are held on the third Wednesday of each month (usually) at 6:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the Carpinteria Public Library on Carpinteria Avenue.

We also do a low-key birdwatching outing somewhere around Carpinteria on the Saturday after each class.

October 2019 update:

We have two topics scheduled for the evening class on October 16:

  • The Carpinteria Christmas Count — A quick overview of the upcoming Carpinteria Christmas Bird Count.
  • Gulls, Part 1 — A favorite class from the past, back by popular demand. Gulls! October’s class will cover gull basics, and then we’ll focus on identification of the “Big 4” gull species we see commonly see in Carpinteria.

For our outing on October 19 we’ll be going back to the Carpinteria Salt Marsh Nature Park off Ash Avenue.

Hope to see you at one or both of these events!
